Clive Thompson on Analog Designs in the Digital Age

In diesem Artikel (Wired Magazine, Februar 2012) schreibt Thompson über “Skeuomorphs” (“(…) bits of design that are based on old-fashioned, physical objects.”) und wie man diese Form am besten anwenden sollte. Er ist der Meinung, dass heutzutage Designer in der digitalen Welt Skeuomorphs auf eine limitierte Art anwenden und es so häufig zu einem Rückwärts- anstatt einem Vorwärtsdenken kommt. “Unless we start weaving ourselves off them, we’ll fail to produce digital tools that harness what computers can do best.” Und am Ende des Artikels formuliert er es so: “Let paper work like paper and screens like screens.”

  1. Very nice post and right to the point. I don’t know if this is in fact the best place to ask but do you folks have any thoughts on where to get some professional writers? Thanks 🙂

  2. Nice read, I just passed this onto a colleague who was doing some research on that. And he actually bought me lunch as I found it for him smile Therefore let me rephrase that: Thanks for lunch!
