Globalisation and worldwide migration, tides of refugees, ethnical mixture, global travel and the like bear major communication problems rooted in cultural or language diversity. In this sense, information design plays an eminent role in enabling non-verbal communication and making use of signs, symbols and and other visual systems that are internationally comprehensible. Visual communication can contribute to efficient information transfer, medical education and thus is able to provide socially relevant solutions. The World Health Organisation WHO addresses specific health care subjects in regional and worldwide campaigns. This project is concentrating on the subjects of pregnancy, safe childbirth and postnatal care in Eastern Europe and Central Asia and the development of information tools for both mothers and health care professionals. Every year, a substantial number of mothers and babies worldwide die due to the lack of hygiene, devastating birth conditions and unprofessional postnatal care. The concept for an\u00a0information campaign in eastern europe and central asia has been developed with the aim to improve knowledge, general medical education and channeling information.
