‘Juntxs en la Cocina’ is a gathering focused on the younger generation of the Peruvian diaspora living in Switzerland. We will meet at 6pm at Stolzehüsli. The idea of this event is to create a safe space for the invited participants, where topics such as identity, heritage, and belonging can be talked about in an open and informal way. Many of us do not have opportunities to connect with others who share similar experiences.
Through cooking a Peruvian meal together, the event aims to create a relaxed atmosphere that encourages conversation and exchange. Food and music will accompany these interactions, acting as points of connection and familiarity, especially as most of the people attending do not know each other. Rather than being a formal discussion or workshop, the gathering is intended as a moment of community, where relationships can grow naturally, and new connections can be formed.
