Shared spaces often demand adaptation and constant presence: unspoken expectations and normalized forms of togetherness exert a\u00a0physical toll, draining energy.\u00a0<br>This project creates a slow hold space, rooted in a protected framework. In a circle of 3 to 7 invited guests, food is understood not as a social performance, but as a medium of\u00a0perception.\u00a0<br>Accompanied by an auditory\u00a0vocal-vessel\u00a0that welcomes\u00a0those arriving and grants permission for silence and\u00a0pauses,\u00a0materiality moves into the center. Through its weight and\u00a0tactility, the tableware offers the nervous system an anchor. The\u00a0food, prepared from regional ingredients, is a form of \u00abcare\u00bb\u00a0for both\u00a0environment\u00a0and body\u2014selected to nourish without\u00a0overwhelming the senses.\u00a0<br>&#8218;Verweilen&#8216;\u00a0emerged\u00a0from a personal necessity\u2014the desire not\u00a0to have to yield when the world becomes too loud. As a queer,\u00a0non-binary person with chronic migraines and a neurodivergent\u00a0nervous system sensitized by loss, I understand this project as an\u00a0artistic practice of self-care.
