Nisbett). You find more of my projects on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/hansuli.wordpress.com\/about\/cv\">hansuli.wordpress.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>My motivation to take part in the International Design School | Atelier<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Intercultural competence is the ability to\u00a0<a title=\"Communication\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Communication\">communicate<\/a>\u00a0successfully with people of other\u00a0<a title=\"Culture\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Culture\">cultures<\/a>. In\u00a0<a title=\"Interaction\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Interaction\">interactions<\/a>\u00a0with people from foreign cultures, a person who is intercultural competent understands the culture-specific concepts of\u00a0<a title=\"Perception\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Perception\">perception<\/a>, thinking, feeling, and acting.<\/p>\n<p>Intercultural competence is also called &#8220;cross-cultural competence&#8221;. Cultures can be different not only between\u00a0<a title=\"Continent\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Continent\">continents<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a title=\"Nation\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nation\">nations<\/a>\u00a0but also within the same\u00a0<a title=\"Company\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Company\">company<\/a>\u00a0and even within the same\u00a0<a title=\"Family\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Family\">family<\/a>. The differences may be\u00a0<a title=\"Ethics\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ethics\">ethical<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Ethnic group\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ethnic_group\">ethnic<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Geography\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Geography\">geographical<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"History of the world\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/History_of_the_world\">historical<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Morality\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Morality\">moral<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Politics\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Politics\">political<\/a>, or\u00a0<a title=\"Religion\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Religion\">religious<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The basic requirements for intercultural competence are\u00a0<a title=\"Empathy\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Empathy\">empathy<\/a>, an understanding of other people&#8217;s\u00a0<a title=\"Behavior\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Behavior\">behaviors<\/a>\u00a0and ways of thinking, and the ability to express one&#8217;s own way of thinking.
