October School

The annual October School addresses local topics of global relevance and is aimed at students, researchers and lecturers. The program is conceived and organised by one of the network’s partner institutions. Artists and emerging researchers explore pressing social issues in a variety of formats — workshops, student-to-student teaching, lectures, field and research excursions. Through its artistic, practice-oriented and research-driven approach, the October School examines exemplary forms of negotiating the public sphere. This examination fosters a critical awareness of local and global concerns and contributes to strengthening the understanding of democracy and self-awareness and ultimately helps to forge social change.
