Also Abk\u00fcrzungen, die sich selber in ihrer ausgeschriebenen Form enthalten. Das ber\u00fchmteste Beispiel ist sicher das <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gnu.org\">GNU-Projekt<\/a>, denn GNU steht f\u00fcr &#8220;<strong>G<\/strong>NU&#8217;s <strong>n<\/strong>ot <strong>U<\/strong>NIX&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>leihs war fr\u00fcher einmal ein reines Ausleihe-System und konnte mit Inventar-Funktionen nicht viel anfangen. Als wir aber immer mehr Inventar-Funktionen hinzuf\u00fcgen mussten, passte leihs als Name nicht mehr so recht. Auch ist der Name arg deutsch und im anglophonen Raum kann man mit dem Wort Aus<strong>leihs<\/strong>ystem \u00fcberhaupt nichts anfangen. Da wir unser Produkt internationalisiert haben und nun auch im englischsprachigen Raum aktiv sind, mussten wir das umdefinieren.<\/p>\n<p>Entstanden wohl das erste <strong>bilinguale<\/strong> rekursive Akronym der Software-Geschichte:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>l<\/strong>eihs ist ein <strong>e<\/strong>infaches <strong>I<\/strong>nventar<strong>h<\/strong>andhabungs<strong>s<\/strong>ystem<\/li>\n<li><strong>l<\/strong>eihs is an <strong>e<\/strong>asy <strong>i<\/strong>nventory <strong>h<\/strong>andling <strong>s<\/strong>ystem<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Da staunt der Linguist und der Laie bricht unter der Gesuchtheit zusammen.<!--:--><!--:en-->In the world of software, we sometimes find geeky wordplay such as recurive acronyms. The best-known recursive acronym is surely found in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gnu.org\">GNU project<\/a>, because GNU stands for &#8220;<strong>G<\/strong>NU&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>n<\/strong>ot\u00a0<strong>U<\/strong>NIX&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>leihs used to be a pure equipment booking system without any inventory-related functions. There are numerous linguistic problems in translating German booking-related terms to English, because English distinguishes between borrowing and lending whereas German only knows the concept of &#8220;Ausleihe&#8221;, which is used both for borrowing and for lending. So in German, it made sense to call leihs leihs &#8212; it was an Aus<strong>leihs<\/strong>ystem.<\/p>\n<p>Now you English-speaking people can&#8217;t really follow the beauty (ahem) of that, and thus when leihs became international, we had to think up a better definition of the name. The result is perhaps the world&#8217;s first ever <strong>bilingual<\/strong> recursive acronym:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>l<\/strong>eihs is an\u00a0<strong>e<\/strong>asy\u00a0<strong>i<\/strong>nventory\u00a0<strong>h<\/strong>andling\u00a0<strong>s<\/strong>ystem<\/li>\n<li><strong>l<\/strong>eihs ist ein\u00a0<strong>e<\/strong>infaches\u00a0<strong>I<\/strong>nventar<strong>h<\/strong>andhabungs<strong>s<\/strong>ystem<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Amazing, huh?<!--:--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In der Software-Welt findet man manchmal rekursive Akronyme.
