The Lab aims to analyse how the fleetingness of aesthetic experience can be challenged, reinforced and negotiated throughout practices of acting in the mediality of the arts. The project attempts to develop an experimental methodology able to intensify and stabilise the fleetingness of these experiences through reflective action in performative-experimental situations.

As a result, it strives to develop a maneuverability in these artistic-performative actions and on this basis to formulate an expressiveness that is specific to the artistic media used yet differs from linguistic knowledge production. Importantly, the aim is not to stabilise a code (THE Alphabet), but to establish provisional, temporal structures of varying dimensions, with which conscious interaction becomes possible (alphabetisation). Thus, we are not seeking a perspective in this expressiveness, but instead intend to test the changing of perspective itself. Our interest, then, is to explore the turn, the turning of a situation, its re-formulation, its shifting and its overturning moment as a method.

We intend to establish workshops to test the developed methods (i.e. in the sense of aesthetic reflexivity) and to render visible the performative strategy of Zer-Zeigung (re-representation). This means gaining awareness of the constructedness of codes and the norms derived from them through the reflective potential of artistic media. It also involves disclosing these constructions in the sense of „radical pedagogies in the arts,“ in order to make such constructions negotiable by means of new encodings.
Second, we aim to gain „experience“ through productively reflecting on the collective or distinct concerns and questions arising in those situations and processes in which one participates, acts and works.
