Taking those as methodological starting points for their reflection, the editors describe Swiss experimental film as \u201cminor cinema,\u201d quoting American scholar Branden W. Joseph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An attempt to offer an overview of the development of Swiss experimental film practices, it includes essays, among other key protagonists and spaces of diffusion, on Robert Beavers and Gregory Markopoulos, Peter Liechti, Hans Helmut Klaus Schoenherr, Clemens Klopfenstein, the role of cinema at the Kunstalle Bern during Harald Szeemann\u2019s curatorship, Annette Michelson, Tony Morgan, and Kurt Blum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Editors: Fran\u00e7ois Bovier, Adeena Mey, Fred Turniger, Anton Rey and Thomas Sch\u00e4rer<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With essays by Jean-Michel Baconnier, Fran\u00e7ois Bovier, Nicolas Brulhart, Renate Buschmann, Gabriel Fl\u00fcckiger, Marcy Goldberg, Michael Hiltbrunner, Ute Holl, Simon Koenig, Thilo Koenig, Genevi\u00e8ve Loup, Adeena Mey, Vr\u00e4\u00e4th Ohner, Siri Peyer, Thomas Sch\u00e4rer, Fred Truniger, and Ian Wooldridge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The publication was preceded by the research project \u00abSwiss Film Experiments 1950-1988\u00bb, which was funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and the following exhibition \u00abFilm Implosion!
