Dina Iordanova is an Emeritus Professor of Global Cinema at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. A native of Bulgaria, her work is on the cinema of Eastern Europe, the Balkans, and on the former Soviet Union. She is also an authority on the history of film festivals and has worked on Asian cinema. Her writing has been translated in various languages across Europe and Asia. She has given numerous talks on the documentary tradition of Eastern Europe — a talk at the documentary film conference in Zurich (2017), keynote at the Zilnik\/Lozinslki\/Schiffer conference in Paris (2021), and the keynote at the Visible Evidence conference in Gda\u0144sk (2022). She has served on the juries of documentary festivals in Thessaloniki (2017), Yamagata (2017), and, most recently, IDFA (2022).<\/div>\n
