Dr. Jane Barnwell<\/strong> is <\/span>Reader<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in Moving Image at the University of Westminster<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Graduating from\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>University\u00a0<\/span>of Leeds\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>t<\/span>he Northern Film\u00a0<\/span>School<\/span>\u00a0she began her career at the BBC, before working freelance\u00a0<\/span>in\u00a0<\/span>production<\/span>.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Jane has\u00a0<\/span>authored articles in a range of forms and genres including popular magazines,\u00a0<\/span>periodicals<\/span>\u00a0and websites<\/span>. <\/span>Her\u00a0<\/span>books includ<\/span>e<\/span> “<\/span><\/em><\/span>Production Design for Screen; Visual Storytelling in Film and TV”<\/span><\/em>\u00a0(2017)<\/span><\/span>, “<\/em><\/span><\/span>Production Design: Architects of the\u00a0<\/span>screen”<\/span><\/em>\u00a0(2004)<\/span><\/span>, “<\/em><\/span><\/span>The Fundamentals of Film Making”<\/span><\/span><\/em>\u00a0<\/span>(2008)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and<\/span> “<\/span><\/em><\/span>Production Design & the Cinematic Home”<\/span><\/em>\u00a0(2022)<\/span><\/span>.
\n<\/span>She is\u00a0<\/span>co-founder of PD-REN (Production Design Research & Education Network) and co-editor of the forthcoming collection\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Perspectives on Production Design<\/span><\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>(<\/span>UoW<\/span>\u00a0Press,\u00a0<\/span>Open Access,\u00a0<\/span>2026)\u00a0<\/span>a<\/span>\u00a0ground-breaking<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>collaboration with authors\u00a0<\/span>drawn from practice,\u00a0<\/span>research<\/span>\u00a0and education<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
