Common Stage 2014 started!
After 5 years of experience between Beijing and Zurich, the summer workshop called „Common Stage“ takes place for the first time in Hong Kong. 35 selected students from the fields of performing arts, music, design, fine arts and art education of various art institutions from Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore and Europe are participating.
Central to the project are practical artistic collaborations between cultures, art forms, and disciplines. The various traditions will be explored in interdisciplinary experiments and the cultural differences are rendered visible for an audience in an open artistic format. Parallel to the practical work thematic and theoretical inputs are incorporated into the process. This makes it possible to observe and reflect on one’s own culture and that of others, as well as to develop innovative forms of artistic expression to be presented to the public on 8/9 August 2014 in Hong Kong. An interdisciplinary team of lecturers from Europe, China and Hong Kong is supervising the students.
Common Stage 2014 is directed by Zurich University of the Arts in cooperation with Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and is part of the initiative “Connecting Spaces Hong Kong – Zurich“. You are welcome to follow our summer workshop on this website!
