Sie verweist auf die Potenziale künstlerischer Bildung zur Differenzierung von Wahrnehmung und zur Sichtbarmachung von minorisierten Perspektiven als Bedingungen für ein demokratisches Zusammenleben, wie sie in den Beiträgen dieser Ausgabe geschildert werden. Dabei gerät die Fragilität der Position von Akteur_innen, die gegen Diskriminierung arbeiten, in den Blick, sowie die Notwendigkeit, sich mit Affekten, Empowerment und (Selbst-)Sorge auseinanderzusetzen.

Pedagogy for Democracy. Art/Education against Racism
In her editorial, Nanna Lüth connects the issue of partiality within the field of critical art education to discussions about the notion of controversy in political pedagogy. Art education, she points out, has the potential to differentiate perceptions and to render visible the perspective of those who are minoritized—both preconditions for living together in a democratic society, a theme explored in the contributions to AER 14. The fragile position of those who work against discrimination is becoming ever more apparent, rendering all the more urgent the need to confront the issues of affect, empowerment and of (self) care.
