My focus as a designer is Interaction Design. Using the principles of User Centered Design and Human Factors to create and innovate simple yet effective interactions, experiences and interfaces is where, I think I can contribute to design.
My journey in design started with Animation and VFX. However, I felt I was restricted in the ways I could contribute or make a difference through design. Soon I developed inclination towards designing experiences and interactions attacking the pain-points the users have. The driving force to pursue interaction design is the outlook of people today who design products and services for just utility and not an experience.
My motivation to take part in the International Design School 2013
I have always enjoyed meeting new people, sharing experiences and learning from them. I strongly believe that there is so much to learn from peers through their perspective of things that otherwise cannot be done. Hence, an opportunity like this is a perfect platform for me to meet others from similar areas of interest, but from different cultures and backgrounds.
Also, looking at the project brief, I am hoping to pick up tools, approach and methodologies that I can apply to Innovation and Interaction design.
My favourite design
An arduino has brought along a change in the way we can experience things. It has made way for the sensors to be leveraged such that the Human-Computer Interactions today have reached places what once used to be just fantasies.
