GREENHOUSE FLOORPLANThe Creative Greenhouse as it is now:

The Creative Greenhouse at Design Harvests on Chongming Island was an amazing place to spend three days. We slept in nearby guesthouses and then spent almost all of our time in the greenhouse, which Design Harvests had repurposed to be a space for learning/talking/crafting/cooking/eating/celebrating. It was really perfect except for two things: the ventilation was bad and there was very little natural light. Because it’s covered with an unperforated tarp, the Creative Greenhouse depends on artificial lighting. During the day it feels dim and stuffy.

Chloe, ET and Carolyn (that’s me) are designing a new tarp roof for the Creative Greenhouse. We have three goals for our tarp: that it lets light in without heating up the greenhouse, that it has windows to allow air to circulate from the outside, and that it is beautiful from outside and inside.
