My focus as a designer
Design is not a department,it is a behavior. It is necessary to value empathy and address needs driven by context. As a designer I want to talk to people every minute, understand and reach out.Design can very well become a new reason to experience what is otherwise mundane.
My motivation to take part in the International Design School 2013
As a student I have always been intrigued by the novelty of handicrafts and the abundant traditional wisdom that lies buried within them. The nuances of these crafts do much more to the senses than merely delight. I am excited to understand the relevance of native craft as a contemporary global idiom and the plethora of digital media available to digitally realize the ubiquitous hand made genius.
My favorite designs:
The PK25 by Poul Kjærholm
“ Steel’s constructive potential is not the only thing that interests me; the refraction of light on its surface is an important part of my artistic work. I consider steel a material with the same artistic merit as wood and leather.”
As Mr.Kjærholm highlights in the aforementioned quote , steel is a indeed a versatile material. In his PK 25, impregnated with organic virtue, the chair is minimalist Danish aesthetic personified.
Sidi Saiyyad Jali , Ahmedabad,Gujrat
The intricately carved stone latticework or Jaalis built by Sidi Saiyyed in 1573 are a fascinating example of the play between filtered light and the variously patterned shadows that curiously develop as some rays strike a conversation with stone.
