My Focus as a Designer
My work is primarily interdisciplinary and I veer towards the more academic, research based projects dealing with socio-political issues. I have Minor in Museum and Gallery Studies and am curious about the human fascination for collection and possession. I am a certified bibliophile and believe that few things in life are free save the imagination.
There is a history in us that never grows old; there are thousand and more different ways to read a single life. It is this craft of telling the story of humanity that enraptures me. If somehow the world could understand a little more about itself then it would do a little more to realize why it functions the way it does.
To me, being a designer is about enabling and emancipating people.
My Motivation to Take Part in the International Design School 2013:
Culture is the bedrock of every social structure, yet it is difficult to define what it actually is. We can only understand it through the entities born out of it and nothing provides a more poignant insight into the heart of a culture than its crafts. I think I’ve witnessed a subtle alienation between what we term as traditional crafts and their crafts of the globalising world. I hope to understand the dynamics of this awakening culture through its crafts.
