my focus as a designer:

A great person said to me once, no one is creative! He also said, you create only using Gestalt’s law of past experience and your environment. I was not convinced right then but now I understand what he meant.

Being a designer or not, like myself I feel all of our youth should feel the need to empower and encourage population to get back to basics. I would not be wrong pointing out to the excessive obsession of our societies and world leaders for ‘Better, Faster, More’ philosophy followed for almost everything today.

It would be great to use a lateral approach and be part of the system to change it from within, to create composite solutions for issues that effects our system and not our individual lives.

my motivation to take part in the International Design School 2013:

In addition to the exposure and perspective IDSS is going to provide, I think a real time experience is much more of value where the theme is not only about transferring cultures but also to know how craft as an industry and as a reflection of society is behaving or adapting to the new norms of the time.

my favourite design(s)

NAKASHIMA CHAIRS – this particular chair was made by George Nakashima in the 70s at NID during his visit to India, it is not only comfortable but makes you feel as if the chair moulds itself according to your body. It is a knock-down chair with one piece steam bent back support.
