Bio

 

 

* 1930, San Francisco, CA; † 2012, Laytonville, CA

 

Robert Nelson studied painting at the San Francisco Art Institute (formerly known as the Californian School of Arts) and at Mills College in Berkeley before stating to experiment with film in the early 1960ies. Plastic Haircut was shot with a borrowed camera and Nelson essentially taught himself how to make a film while making it. Later he taught film-making at he University of Wisconsin in Mulwaukee.
