Piotr Mirowski is the co-founder of Improbotics, the world’s first AI-enabled theatre company. His shows investigate the use of artificial intelligence for human/machine co-creation. Improbotics has been touring internationally and was featured in the New York Times, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, New Scientist, Time Magazine, Hollywood Reporter, BBC, ABC, Sky, Al-Jazeera and France Info.
When he’s not battling robots on stage, Piotr works as Staff Research Scientist at Google DeepMind where he conducts navigation-related research, scaling up autonomous agents to real-world environments, and weather and climate forecasting. His work has been published in Nature, ICLR, and NeurIPS, and has been covered by The Guardian, BBC, the Financial Times, and many other press outlets.
Mirowski studied computer science in France at ENSEEIHT, Toulouse, and obtained his PhD in computer science in 2011 at New York University under the supervision of Prof. Yann LeCun, receiving the Outstanding Dissertation Award in 2011.
