Jan Cools was active as a curator in Antwerp, Amsterdam, The Hague, London, Liverpool, Dakar, etc. Since 2006 he is research coordinator Visual and Audiovisual Arts at the Sint-Lukas University College of Art and Design Brussels. He wrote several articles and publications on Belgian contemporary art. He was co-curator of the international conferences “The Academy strikes back”, (Brussels, 4 – 5 June 2010) and “A Certain Ma Ness”, (Amsterdam, 8 March 2008); and the international expert meeting “Becoming Bologna”, (IUAV, Venice 6 – 7 June 2009).
