Yesterday, on May 15, I travelled to our administrative capital. Here I met Smartvote’s Senior Project Manager, Michael Erne. Smartvote uses questionnaires to create political profiles for parliamentarians and parties.

Their surveys are answered by more than 80% of the members of parliament. Smartvote is the leading institution when it comes to collecting and publishing this valuable data. On their website, users can fill in these questionnaires in order to see what politician or parties they most agree with. Through this work, Smartvote offers crucial assistance when it comes to analysing one’s own political view, or to understand one’s personal position within the Swiss political landscape.

Michael and I discussed how our approaches compliment each other and how CH+ could use the data provided by Smartvote. Much to my delight, it turned out that a recent overhaul of their online system would make the integration of their services a lot easier. To conclude this conversation, Michael referred me to further addresses.

With Smartevote at our side I am motivated and excited for the future. It was a long day, but it was worth it!
