Wilding AI

Collective in Residency, 21st to 26th September 2026

Wilding AI is a nomadic research-creation lab. It questions the current domestication of artificial intelligence into predefined operational modes, aiming instead to foster new avenues for creative expression, particularly in technology-driven performances and installations.

As a collective of artist-researchers, Wilding AI rejects the commodification of technology. Instead, we engage with it poetically and experimentally by (mis)using, hijacking, or outright breaking machine-learning media generators to explore new forms of human-machine collaboration.

Centering on public engagement, the collective focuses on research-creation residencies and open-studio presentations at international venues, including MUTEK and SAT Montreal, MUTEK Mexico, MONOM Studios for CTM Festival Berlin, and 4DSOUND for FIBER Festival in Amsterdam.

From September 21 to 26, the Immersive Art Space will host Wilding AI’s Pía Baltazar, Beth Coleman, Sahar Homami, Daniela Huerta, Maurice Jones, Tegan Maharaj, Gadi Sassoon, Debashis Sinha, and Alexandre Saunier (Senior Researcher at the IAS/ZHdK).

This creation residency will be the occasion for them to give insights on the development of their work in two evenings of open studios and a final performance presentation of the residency’s outcome.
